Semi truck crashes through barrier at truck pull event after pulling away from sled in spectator video

A semi truck accidentally plowed through a barrier during a truck pull event at a fair in Ohio on Thursday night.

The crash happened at the Portage County Randolph Fair in Randolph, Ohio at 10:59 p.m. on Thursday, August 27th during a truck pull Grandstand event.

According to a statement from the fair, a Pro Street Semi truck was competing in the truck pull event when it broke away from the pulling sled and crashed through the barrier at the back end of the track. The truck jumped over a barrier of barrels and came to a stop on the other side.

No visitors or personnel were behind the barrier at the time of the crash. The truck driver was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment of any injuries. The driver sustained only minor injuries in the accident.

On Friday, the Portage County Randolph Fair announced the cancellation of the truck pulls on Friday night, with plans to reopen the event on Saturday.
