Arizona troopers seize 106 gallons of liquid meth from frame of pickup truck's towed trailer

Arizona authorities seized more than a hundred gallons of liquid methamphetamine concealed on a trailer towed by a pickup truck.

The drug seizure took place on August 11, 2026, on I-8 near Yuma, Arizona.

An Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Canine District trooper initiated a traffic stop on a Ford F-350 pickup truck towing a trailer.

During the traffic stop, the trooper “observed several indicators of criminal activity.”

A subsequent search of the Ford pickup and trailer revealed that the trailer frame was filled with an unknown liquid.

A hazmat team responded to the scene.

Preliminary testing identified the substance as liquid methamphetamine.

The pickup and trailer were taken to a secure location. Officials drained 106 gallons of methamphetamine from the trailer frame.

The pickup driver and passenger were arrested on charges of possession of dangerous drugs and transportation of dangerous drugs for sale.

“The diligence and expertise of our Canine District troopers continue to play a vital role in deterring criminal activity and keeping dangerous drugs out of Arizona’s communities,” said AZDPS in a news release.
