Man who stole semi truck kept ramming patrol cars until finally apprehended

A man stole a semi truck from a grocery store parking lot and rammed multiple police vehicles until he was finally apprehended on Thursday morning.

The theft occurred on September 10th at the Safeway on 1715 Broadway near Everett, Washington.

According to The Everett Police Department, the truck driver called police to report his truck stolen at 6:21 a.m. that morning. Soon after the call, Snohomish County Deputies saw the truck enter Interstate 5 south, and followed it to the 112th Park and Ride exit in Silver lake. Officers tried to stop the semi truck at Silver Lake Rd and 116th Pl SE, but the thief began ramming their vehicles to evade capture.

The semi truck then rammed the vehicle of an officer responding to an unrelated call, prompting a call for backup. The thief continued to ram more responding patrol vehicles until it came to a rest in the 1100 block of A. Sater Road. The man in the semi truck was then taken into custody.

Four police officers were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The suspect has only been identified as a man in his 30’s. He is currently in custody. The incident is under active investigation. Multiple commenters claim that the stolen rig was a beer delivery truck, but police have not commented on or confirmed this detail.
