Man arrested for filming others in truck stop restroom, Florida sheriff says

A man faces multiple charges after he reportedly filmed others in a men’s restroom at a truck stop in North Fort Myers, Florida.

On September 30, 2026, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) responded to a truck stop located at Park 78 Drive in North Fort Myers after receiving reports of a man “filming over bathroom stalls in the men’s room.”

Deputies made contact with the suspect, David Floyd, in the truck stop parking lot.

“Through investigative techniques, deputies located a video on Floyd’s phone showing him fully naked while sitting inside a restroom stall. In the video, Floyd held his phone underneath and over the stall partition, recording an individual who was in a neighboring stall,” LCSO said.

Additional similar videos were found on Floyd’s phone, police said.

Floyd was placed in police custody.

Deputies discovered that Floyd was also in possession of methamphetamine, adult toys, a mask with holes cut into it, and a glass pipe.

Floyd was charged with Digital Voyeurism, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Tampering with Evidence.
