Nearly 500 violations uncovered in North Dakota commercial vehicle operation involving ICE and FMCSA

Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies partnered for a recent commercial vehicle inspection in North Dakota.

According to an October 8 release from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), multiple agencies partnered for an operation targeting unsafe commercial vehicles and drivers in Williston, North Dakota.

Participating agencies include the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE), the Watford City Police Department, and the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office.

See below for results from the enforcement detail.

  • 109 inspections, including 20 hazardous materials checks
  • 494 violations identified
  • 122 out-of-service violations
  • 47 enforcement actions, including 27 citations and 20 warnings

“When enforcement partners work together, unsafe commercial vehicles and drivers don’t stay on the road,” FMCSA said.
