Iowa troopers share photos of commercial vehicle violations as a reminder to do 'thorough' pre-trip

The Iowa State Patrol (ISP) Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit asked truck drivers to do better at pre-trips after recent inspections uncovered potentially dangerous equipment issues.

On October 12, Iowa troopers took to social media with a reminder to truckers about checking their equipment.

“Here are some photos from recent inspections. Please ensure a thorough inspection is conducted before the start of each workday. Additionally, doing random checks throughout the day is always a good practice,” ISP said.

Check out the photos below.

“The brake was inoperative and one of the indicators was the heavily rusted braking surface,” ISP said of the photo above. Troopers provided the photo below from the same truck to better show the issue.
