11 new Buc-ee’s locations in seven states are expected to open in 2027, so we’ve compiled a list to help you understand just where truckers will be the least welcome next year.
The states expecting to host their first Buc-ee’s locations include Wisconsin, Louisiana, Kansas, and North Carolina. Meanwhile, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida will soon see their third, fourth, fifth, and beyond, reported Florida Today.
The Wisconsin location will be in Oak Creek south of Milwaukee on Interstate 94, and is scheduled to open in April 2027. Buc-ee’s itself calls the location “genuinely life-changing in the Buc-ee’s sense” for Chicago residents, whose closest Buc-ee’s location prior to this one was in Missouri or Ohio.
In Louisiana, the state’s first Buc-ee’s will be found at the intersection of Interstate 20 and Tarbutton Road in Ruston – between Dallas, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. That location is expected sometime in mid 2027. A second Louisiana Buc-ee’s is planned for somewhere in Lafayette sometime in 2027, but the details have not been released.
North Carolina’s first Buc-ee’s is being built in Mebane, and is expected in Q4 of 2027, with November as the most likely month of completion.
“Drivers along Interstate 40 can now spot billboards announcing the arrival of North Carolina’s first Buc-ee’s,” the Buc-ee’s website says. “If you’re in North Carolina and you’ve been watching those I-40 billboards — the wait is almost over. Q4 2027 means October through December. We’re calling November as the most likely specific month.”
An opening is expected for Kansas’s first Buc-ee’s location near the Kansas Speedway at Interstate 70 and West Village Parkway in Kansas City in 2027, but the exact month has been contested. Initial plans stated October 2027, but a recent post on the Buc-ee’s Kansas City Facebook page has bumped the date to spring 2027.
Two locations in Georgia along Interstate 75 are expected in 2027. Monroe County and Forsyth will host the state’s fourth and fifth locations, respectively.
Tennessee will also host two new Buc-ee’s, marking the state’s third and fourth stores. The Fayette County location has been bumped to a May 2027 opening after it was initially expected to open this past summer. The Gallaway location opening has also been delayed, with new estimated pegging the opening for August 2027
Florida will see its first Panhandle location near Tallahassee on Interstate 10 sometime in 2027, along with the Fort Pierce location near the I‑95 and Indrio Road interchange in St. Lucie County.
Buc-ee’s has a total of 58 locations in 14 states, with 37 in its home state of Texas.
