Iowa police recently stopped a semi trailer with dangerously overheated brake drums in the Hudson area.
After a passing motorist reported a “traffic concern,” an officer with the Hudson Police Department responded to find a semi truck suffering major brake issues.
According to the Iowa State Patrol (ISP) Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit, “the semi-trailer’s brake drums were severely overheated, and the officer reported that the air bag suspensions had failed during the traffic stop.”
ISP said that no vehicle fire occurred.
“This incident highlights the dangers of brake malfunctions … Thank you to the Hudson Police Department for getting this vehicle stopped!” troopers said.
