POLICE: Death of man who “darted” in front of bobtail semi truck not considered traffic fatality

The death of a man who “darted into the roadway” in front of a bobtail semi truck is not being counted as a traffic fatality according to police.

The accident happened on Monday, September 28th at about 11:30 a.m. in Las Vegas on West Lake Mead Boulevard.

According to 3 News, the 54-year-old female truck driver was driving a bobtail when the man “darted into the roadway” in front of her and was struck. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

The incident was seen by several witnesses and captured on surveillance camera, but investigators have found no obvious reason why the man entered the roadway.

The 52-year-old man was taken to a hospital following the incident, where he died. The incident is not being counted as a traffic fatality and is awaiting a coroner to determine the cause and manner of death.
