CHP's commercial vehicle troopers find multiple violations on pickup hauling uncovered load of rocks

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) uncovered several violations after taking a closer look at a pickup truck hauling a trailer loaded with rocks.

CHP’s Commercial Enforcement Unit stopped a pickup truck in the Golden Gate area after seeing that the vehicle was hauling an uncovered load of rocks and no license plate on the trailer.

CHP

After troopers inspected the vehicle, they discovered that “the trailer was overloaded, had defective safety chains, no emergency breakaway cable, expired registration, and a large gap allowing rocks to fall onto the roadway.”

CHP

“Whether you haul for work or just have a weekend project, secure your load and make sure your equipment is safe before hitting the road. Your fellow motorists (and their windshields) will appreciate it,” said CHP.
