Drunk box truck driver with no CDL takes out Burger King dining area by hitting gas instead of brake

Two people were hurt on Wednesday night after a box truck driver drove through the side of a Burger King while intoxicated.

The incident happened at the Burger King on Boydton Plank Road in Dinwiddie County, Virginia at about 11:45 p.m. on October 7th.

According to WTVR6, a truck driver in a 2001 International truck was trying to park outside of the Burger King restaurant when he accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal. The truck plowed through the side of the restaurant as a result of the mistake.

Two people were hurt in the accident. They were taken to a nearby hospital with non life threatening injuries. The truck driver was identified as Franklin Scott Traylor, who was determined to be driving without a commercial driver’s license.

Traylor was charged with driving a commercial motor vehicle under the influence, driving without a commercial driver’s license and failing to provide proof of insurance at the scene. The incident is still under investigation.
