Police arrested and changed a teenager in connection with a recent thrown object incident that left a semi truck driver injured.
On September 3, 2026, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) announced that deputies arrested and charged a 16-year-old male on one count each of Negligent Injury and Simple Criminal Damage.
The charges stem from an August 16 incident that took place on Highway 1054 near Forbes Road in the Spring Creek, Louisiana, area.
In the late evening hours, a semi truck driver’s windshield suddenly broke as she was driving on the highway, causing glass to severely injure one of her eyes.
TPSO shared dash cam video from the incident to try to help locate a suspect.

After sharing the video, tips came in from the public and the vehicle was tracked to the Kentwood area.
“The investigation revealed the teen, who was a passenger in the truck, threw a large drink cup out of his window, which struck the oncoming semi-truck,” TPSO said.
Police thanked the public for the tips that led to the arrest.
