Three people were seriously hurt after an RV slammed into a tractor trailer on Highway 82 outside of the Lucky Stop truck stop in Texas on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened on Tuesday, October 21st in Whitesboro, Texas.
According to KXII, both vehicles were traveling along Highway 82 when the RV sideswiped the tractor trailer, causing a car to crash into the back of it. The incident was captured on surveillance camera at the nearby truck tire shop.
Five people were injured in total, and three of them were critically injured. The two minorly injured parties included a young girl in the RV and the truck driver.
“One was transported by CareFlight to Dallas, and two were transported by ground ambulance to Texoma Medical Center in Denison,” Whitesboro Fire Chief Jeff Patterson said.
“We enacted a second-alarm fire response, which gets us more fire trucks to the scene because of the fire, and then we activated our mass casualty plan as well, which brings in additional ambulances,” he said.
The highway was closed for over four hours for cleanup of the incident. The accident is still under investigation and no exact cause has been determined.
“We’re sharing this video to raise awareness and warn others that this stretch of road is very dangerous due to semi-trucks frequently entering the gas station,” the business said in a statement. “We’re praying for everyone involved.”
