Hundreds of commercial vehicles were inspected as part of a three-day detail in the Flagstaff, Arizona, area last week.
From October 6 — 8, 2026, Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Highway Patrol troopers partnered with Arizona Department of Transportation officers to conduct an “Arrive Alive Arizona” Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Detail on I-40 near Flagstaff.
During the three-day operation, Arizona authorities achieved the following:
- 263 commercial vehicle inspections
- 195 weight checks
- 110 unsafe vehicles and drivers removed from Arizona’s roadways
- 80 Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) decals issued to “drivers who passed through with all their equipment and logbooks in good order”

“Remember – safety isn’t seasonal. Keep your rigs road-ready, your logs accurate, and your focus sharp,” AZDPS advised.

The Arrive Alive Arizona campaign launched over the summer of 2026. According to AZDPS, it is a “comprehensive five-year statewide traffic safety campaign focused on reducing fatal and serious injury crashes through four coordinated pillars: Community Engagement and Education, High-Visibility Enforcement, Strategic Communications, and Partnerships and Safety Innovation.”
