CHP: Truck cab hanging off I-5 in San Diego by a thread, spilling fuel and starting fires

A semi truck cab was left hanging by a thread after a crash with a sedan sent the front half of the rig off of the interstate.

The accident happened on Tuesday morning in the Mission Hills neighborhood of San Diego, California on Interstate 5 near Washington Street at around 10 a.m.

According to NBC San Diego, a sedan and a semi truck collided, which resulted in the truck going over the side of the freeway. The wrecked semi truck spilled fuel on the roadway and eventually caught fire.

Four people inside of the sedan were transported to the hospital following the crash. Two men inside of the semi truck refused medical care. The extent of all of their injuries is not known.

Severe delays were reported as a result of the crash, reported CHP. No further information has been released.
