Man using RV bathroom while parked on interstate shoulder killed when dump truck slams into it

One man is dead after a semi truck slammed into his RV while he was parked on the shoulder of the interstate using the bathroom.

The accident happened in Saline County, Kansas on Interstate 135 just after 9:15 a.m.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 70-year-old Michael D. Shreiber pulled his RV onto the shoulder of the interstate and was using the restroom inside of the RV when a Mack Granite truck struck the vehicle. The truck driver then tried to regain control of the vehicle, and it came to a rest in the median.

Shreiber was pronounced dead at the scene. Another woman inside of the RV was not injured. The dump truck driver and his passenger were not hurt in the incident.

It is unclear if the dump truck driver, 34-year-old Eric Shrick, was cited for the incident. No further information has been released.
